The Solar Powered Electric Bike is a new model developed by HAMA ZERO, a Japanese company that has no website.
They call the new technology on electric bicycle, the SOLARE BIK FUJIN. Like what I said long ago, anything that is
powered by electricity can be powered through solar means. This electric bike has an on board solar panel on the
rear part of the bike, just right after the bike seat. The bike is widely used now in Japan and could run distances
of up to 220km using a single charge only. How’s that for efficiency? You have the option to charge it using home
power socket which could cost you around 0.02 US Dollars or you could solely get the power from the sun, absolutely
free. The battery that powers this baby is a 940 W/h lithium – Ion Battery. The FUJIN is not bad in terms of speed
because it could reach top speeds of 72 km/h.
If you are talking about the weight, it isn’t that heavy, it weighs around 42 kilo grams, and that includes the
solar panel in the rear part, packed in a box. So you can have a light and personal device for travelling that is
powered by the sun, which means it is very environment friendly and would cost you nothing to charge it. A very
efficient piece of technology indeed.
